Swedish software expands to the US. Collections need to expand with it.
Latka tracks 770 Swedish SaaS companies producing $5 billion in revenue. Streaming, fintech, martech, communication platforms: many Swedish software companies pursue US customers early.
Here's the part the playbook doesn't cover: the US customers who stop paying. A Stockholm finance team chasing a US receivable is working across seven to nine time zones, through a US subsidiary that may or may not own the invoice, and against a debtor that can renew "we'll wire it next week" until somebody sets a firm escalation date.
The expansion gap
A company may localize its US sales, hiring, and product before it localizes collections. The US subsidiary sells; the Stockholm office bills; the receivable ages in dollars while the two offices trade ownership of the follow-up. The debtor, meanwhile, has learned that nobody is actually chasing.
The fix is the same localization you applied to the product: put the collection on US soil, with someone who works the debtor's clock and knows the US entity structure—the parent, the subsidiary, the reseller, and which one the contract says pays.
What we do for Swedish software companies
- US-side collection as the standard, not the exception. Calls from a US number, on US hours, escalation that matches what the debtor expects from a serious vendor.
- Entity tracing. Swedish parent, US subsidiary, EU entity, or reseller—we find the liable entity before we make the demand.
- Use the adoption record. Communication platforms, fintech, and martech all have usage data that answers "we didn't get value."
- Same contingency worldwide. 25% under 12 months, 33% over, 40% on second placements—no recovery, no fee.
The short version
You localized the product for the US. Localize the collections too. Our international desk runs local agents in 15+ countries with one point of contact on your side—so Stockholm keeps running the company, and the US debtor finally meets a collector who isn't eight time zones away.
